The Software Engineer will be a part of the Boston Scientific AMEA R(amp;)D organization and supports Global Business Unit teams to maintain and enhance remote patient management test solutions, thereby ensuring practices which meet BSC, customer, quality, and regulatory requirements. Complete assigned work elements to meet expedite timely completion of departmental, functional, site, divisional and corporate goals and priorities.
The individual should be a team player who is willing to collaborate and work with cross functional teams across geographies and cultures.
The candidate needs to be a self:motivated individual skilled in leading requirements analysis, and the design, implementation of test cases for a commercial safety:critical medical software web application.
The candidate will also be responsible for debugging and modifying test cases. Strong technical background in medical devices would be preferred.
Key Responsibilities / Deliverables
: Responsible to work alongside the team in US (Mid west) in verifying that the functionality of the Latitude system meets software requirements. This may include testing new device support and/or new features.
: Designs, develops, debugs, and modifies test scripts that evaluate software applications against software requirements using Java.
: Uses automation testing tools such as Selenium WebDriver for web application testing.
: Use version management tool to manage test assets in a concurrent design environment.
: Collaborate with requirements and development teams to coordinate resolution of software errors.
: Continuously improves process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross:functional groups and analyzing activities to improve workflow and work processes.
: Ensure compliance to all applicable processes and procedures per the CRM quality system.
Academic Qualification and Experience
Required Skills and Experience:
: Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
: Proficient in Java 1.6 or higher (5+ years of experience in Java for senior Engineer )
: Strong Experience writing automated tests using frameworks like Junit, Selenium or Appium for Multi browser RESTful API/applications
: Knowledge of Test methodologies and strategies
: Experience using Continuous Integration tools like ThoughtWorks Go or Jenkins
: Testing experience in a regulated environment (medical devices, defense, aerospace)
: Experience testing commercial GUI products, Web applications
: Understanding of database tables to assist in creating test data and debugging issues found in testing
: Experience using SCRUM or other Agile based development methodologies
: Experience in mentoring team members
: Capacity to multi:task several testing activities concurrently
Desired Skills and Experience:
: Working knowledge of defect tracking systems such as JIRA
: Working knowledge of Windows 7 and iOS operating systems
: Past experience working with remote team(s)
: Excellent Communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with proficiency in English (verbal and written).
