The IT Management and Audit Controls Steward is responsible for leading, facilitating and improving the Control Environment for all IT process areas and locations.
: Obtain understanding of the IT process areas as it relates to the control environment in order to develop effective and efficient risk based control processes.
: Publish and facilitate communication across IT on control:related topics including scorecards, policy and process changes, audits, Management Controls and SOx:related activities.
: Partner with Global Process Stewards, IT Managers and Project Managers, and IT senior management on controls:related activities, continuous improvement and communication.
: Liaison to Corporate Finance, BSC Global Internal Audit (GIA), and local finance teams on controls:related activities and communication.
: Provide controls expertise and training as needed to IT organization.
: Perform various self:testing audit procedures to assess the following as it relates to the business areas under review:
: Adequacy of internal control environment,
: Efficiency/effectiveness of business processes,
: Accuracy of financial controls,
: Compliance with BSCy policies and procedures and external rules and regulations, and
: Other areas on an as needed basis.
: Manage the IT Controls communication repository site including publishing of key dates, scorecard, and updated control documentation.
: Conduct periodic IT controls meetings with relevant stakeholders.
: Work with the IT management team to develop appropriate corrective actions for any areas of concern.
: Develop close working relationships with various levels of management, acting as a problem:solving resource, while continuously sharing best practices and areas for improvement.
: Partner with corporate and local management to improve BSC Policies (amp;) Procedures.
: Partner with internal and external auditors as required through Management Controls and SOx audits and Year:end audit processes.
: Assist in the assessment of the adequacy of controls within various technology enablers including new platforms as needed.
: Create repeatable processes for responding to audits and reduce the time spent in audits by 50.
: Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, accounting information system, or information technology. MBA a plus.
: CPA, CIA or CISA preferred.
: Five to seven years of progressive experience (preferably with a Big Four firm or equivalent) and proven success within a large complex multi:national company.
: Speaks fluent English, other foreign language skills and experience living or working abroad is a plus but not required.
: Demonstrated track record of effective application of accounting principles, regulations and financial analysis. Knowledge of US GAAP accounting and internal controls.
: Solid understanding of the relationship of internal controls and business processes with the financial statements and financial statement assertions. Solid understanding of the importance of Management Controls and SOx controls and associated environments.
