Job Description

The candidate needs to be a self:motivated individual with leadership skills on project, process and people management with limited general supervision. Strong technical background and project management skill to manage new product development projects for medical device (Class II and III). Lead product development teams for end to end PDP : from project planning to commercial launch. The candidate should have excellent people management skills and leading medical device NPD. A team player to collaborate and lead cross function design and development teams and work with Quality, Marketing, manufacturing Supply Chain and IP teams to delivery on Cost, Quality and Time. The candidate requires in:depth working knowledge of Project Management, PDP processes, Vendor Management and Control and People Management skills. Experienced in transitioning new projects in PDP from front end and pre:development phases. Should be in good people development and mentoring project leadership for future.

The individual should be a team player who is willing to collaborate and work in cross functional teams across geographies and cultures. Should be comfortable working in a matrix organizational structure.

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables

: Lead regional and/or global PDP projects or project / component modules.
: Work closely with Business Unit global R and D directors.
: Lead project teams R and D new product development projects on Project Planning, Management and Execution to commercial launch as per BSC product development processes (PDP) and quality systems.
: Lead Cross functional project teams for new product development projects
: Drive Business unit based project portfolio commitments including, project budget and timelines.
: Annual and project based resource planning and co:ordination of project deliverables.
: Project planning and management including human resources, capex, opex and general expenses budgets.
: Co:ordinate project activities cross functional partners i.e. marketing, pre:clinical, regulatory, clinical, manufacturing and quality
: Responsible for maintaining Project Matrix on Scope, Schedule and Budget.
: Ready to travel and comfortable in an multinational demanding work environment.
: Develop and manage project times, resource plans Develop and lead strategies to achieve deliverables including Project Lifecycle Management.
: Liaison with cross function peers and team members
: Marketing: deliver commercial product through the PDP cycle as per business plan.
: QA: implement Quality systems and process as per project Quality plan. Participate in quality audits.
: Supply Chain and Manufacturing: liaison with internal and external manufacturing sites to develop manufacturing strategies and participate in IQ, OQ and PQ implementation.
: IP: Liaision with IP team to develop and manage Portfolio IP estate
: Regulatory Affairs: Participate in development of regulatory strategies and deliver product design to meet product claim requirements.
: Leadership skills:
: Represent project matrix at portfolio and internal sponsor meetings.
: Liaison with internal stakeholders
: Lead and / or manage cross functional teams.
: Present regular updates on project status roadmap to senior global and regional management
: People Management
: Assign roles and responsibilities as per project plan
: Facilitate developmental plans with HR for project teams.

Academic Qualification and Experience

: Masters (or higher) degree in engineering with preference mechanical engineering, electronics and embedded systems, plastics and polymer engineering and biomedical engineering.
: 7 : 12+ years of New product development/ R and D experience in medical device design and development with 3 : 5 years in hands on Project management as a core team leader
